Giving the Indians another reason of pride and joy, wrestler Vinesh Phogat bagged the gold medal increasing India’s medal tally to two. Not only did she make to the list of the gold medalists but also created history by becoming the first Indian female wrestler to win gold at such a continental event. Defeating Yuki Irie of Japan in the final round of the 50kg wrestling category, the Dangal girl won gold to her name.
The second day was started with a silver strike when Deepak Kumar secured the silver in the Men’s 10m Air Rifle. India’s rush for the medal was carried forward by the Shooter Lakshya Sheoran, with his Asian Games debut, after he won silver in the Men’s Trap event.
The Indian men’s hockey and women’s Kabbadi team also stroked perfectly with their positions. The Indian team and players of games like rowing, tennis, handball, and volleyball have established themselves in their respective matches increasing our hopes for more medals. Because this time we all are prepared to nail it hard. Keep going!
