The Asian games weekend updates were similar to a roller coaster ride for the Indian players and athletes. India won its first medal in athletics with Tajinderpal Singh Toor breaking the Games Record and the National Record. The 23-year-old Toor nailed his performance by creating a national record distance of 20.75m on the opening day of the athletics competition.
Next was India’s best ever performance in the singles squash event with three bronze medals in it. Although the day did not end with a single gold, yet it increased the tally to a much larger extent.
The 18th Asian Games saw India clinching onto silver medals as the 8th Day’s event began. India’s Muhammed Anas and Hima Das claimed their hold on the silver medals in the men’s and women’s 400 meters races respectively
In Eventing Individual Equestrain event, a silver medal was won by Fouaad Mirza. The Indian team, comprising Rakesh Kumar, Ashish Malik, and Jitender Singh also scored another silver. Their total score in Eventing Team Equestrian event was 121.30.
