Even as the second round of counselling of the colleges under Joint Admission Committee (JAC) comes to a halt, Computer Science Engineering (CSE) still persists as the most sought after stream by students. The craze to pursue this stream is still at the top notch and does not seem to fade away soon. A total of 1,220 seats got filled after the second round of allotment as CSE continues to maintain itself as the top choice of students. Irrespective of the college any student is getting, their ultimate choice does not depend on the college name but the stream itself.
This shows that this trend would continue way too long. It has been observed as told by J K Goswami, coordinator of JAC admissions at UIET, that many IITs do not hold computer science as their best stream but still have allotted seats into this stream as it continues to be the ideal choice among students.
The final allotment of seats came to end with the cut-off in the all-India pool higher than the home state pool. While UIET stood with a closing rank of the BE in computer science engineering (CSE), AI quota as 31,323, the closing rank for CSE in Chandigarh College of Engineering and Technology (CCET) in HS pool was 64,996. The closing rank of CSE in University Institute of Engineering and Technology, PUSSG Regional Centre, Hoshiarpur, reached to 77,445 in the AI pool.
The engineers are all set for another voyage of four-year. Good luck !
