In a recent meeting of Federation of Sectors Welfare Association Chandigarh (FOSWAC), the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Chandigarh Nilambari Vijay Jagdale shared this upcoming step introduced by the police department. They have planned and even executed the adoption of a model for sharing information of their respective areas through WhatsApp group to curb crime rate.
UT administrator V P Singh Badnore has recently asked Chandigarh, Panchkula, and Mohali to come together and focus on improvising the coordination for law and order during TOI summit It’s Chandigarh’s Time which was held on July 10.
The SSP said that the Tricity police departments have worked together to establish a network on social media which will pass on the information about any crime in their area and this shall help reducing the street crime.
Kawaljeet Singh Panchi, RWA representative of Sector 18, said during the TOI summit that the police departments have to work on this model and implement coordination to decrease the crime rate.
