The day 13 of Asian Games wraps without a gold. But this did not stop the total tally to cease. India women’s hockey team did not accomplish winning a gold but managed to earn a silver. The medal tally of 13 golds at the 18th Asian Games remained constant. But the athletes and players are proudly carrying forward India’s medal tally to 65 medals – 13 gold, 23 silver, and 29 bronze. With this India is at the eighth position in the medal’s tally of the Asian Games held in Jakarta and Palembang.

Besides the women’s hockey team, we saw outstanding efforts by the sailing contingent. The team contributed with a total of three medals (one silver and two bronze) on the day. Among the bronze medallists, we have boxer Vikas Krishan who clinched the medal in the 75kg boxing category and the men’s squash team marking their victory.
Varsha Gautham and Sweta Shervegar were another proud athletes bagging the silver medal in 49er FX women’s event. Not leaving a single chance to prove ‘girls power’, Harshita Tomar claimed to be the bronze medallist in the Open Laser 4.7.
And then the day ended with another bronze by Varun Thakkar Ashok and Chengappa Ganapathy Kelapanda in the 49er men’s event. The hard work and efforts are bringing laurels to the country.
